Rumors say that the famous 21st century boy band One Direction will be splitting up for good. Ever since One Direction member, Zayn Malik left the band, there have been nonstop rumors of the whole boy band coming to an end.
Middletown High School sophomore Evan Ruderman, explains how it is natural for rumors like this to start up. “I would say it’s natural for the rumors to be spread like they are with One Direction. Since one person left already, the rumors are bound to occur.”
“They shouldn’t split up just because of their music.” said MHS sophomore, Hannah Prensky.
With recent statements given by the remaining band members, it has been concluded that the boy band will not be splitting up.
“I’m glad they’re not splitting up because I used to be a fan of their music, and they’re such a great band.” added Prensky.
The band is very successful, and while most boy bands last only a few years at best, One Direction seems to be taking the high road and continuing on with their very successful career.
“I’m not much of a fan, but it’s good if they keep their career up and running even if it’s without one member.” said MHS sophomore, Freddy Roberts.
Ever since the band’s first appearance on the British music show, “The X-Factor,” their talent for performing and singing has only grown.
Ruderman said, “If you take the Beatles for example, one member left and they knew they couldn’t continue. They just wouldn’t have been good enough, or like they were before.”
Even without original member, Zayn Malik, the band refuses to split up.
Unlike the Beatles, the band has said in previous statements they are determined to keep going strong. Just because Malik left doesn’t mean they have to end their careers.
