Recently, the movie Wicked part 1 came out in theaters on November 22, 2024. It was a huge success and almost everyone was super excited to go into theaters and watch it. Most people even went to see it more than once. Everyone has their own opinion about the movie, that’s why I am about to give you mine. 

Before the movie came out, there was first the book, which then evolved into a Broadway musical on October 30, 2003. The movie that recently came out was inspired mostly by the Broadway musical rather than the book version. 

When I went to see the movie, I had no knowledge of what the movie was mainly going to be about, this is because I had not sat down and watched the Broadway musical first. So I was pretty much going into this theater blind. However, even with very little knowledge about the Wicked musical, I was still able to understand the references that they made throughout the movie just fine. 

The music in the movie was so amazing and catchy, that it made me dance in my seat without realizing it. Going from happy and upbeat songs, to sad and emotional songs that made me shed a few tears. 

The emotional connection that Glinda and Elphaba (played by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo) had throughout the movie was so well played and made me feel so connected to the movie, and also had me relating to the movie a lot as well. 

This movie was overall one of my top favorite musicals and I can not wait for the second part of the franchise to release. It was such a fun movie to watch with my loved ones, and I am excited for it to be released on streaming services so I am able to watch the movie at home.
