The highly anticipated concert film of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has finally arrived in theaters giving fans who didn’t get to see her in concert a Taylor Swift concert experience. The concert film takes you through her Eras Tour concert starting with Lover and ending with Midnights and includes many fans favorite part of the night, the acoustic surprise song set.
Swift first announced her tour in 2022, the tour was so incredibly popular that it was extremely difficult to get tickets, in fact the demand was so high that she added many extra tour dates to the original schedule. However due to the demand and the problems with Ticketmaster, many fans did not manage to get tickets and resorted to online livestreams and videos. Then in August Swift announced that Eras Tour concert film would be released in theaters on October 13th.
The film itself does an excellent job of recreating the concert experience, with an even better view. The film (and the tour itself) does a beautiful job of going through her journey as an artist through her music, the show is less of a concert and more of an experience. You get taken through each ¨era¨ of her life as a music artist with epic transitions.
The movie cuts to fans’ reactions to songs and really makes you feel like you are there, including classic tour chants, and all of the fun and enjoyment that comes with a Taylor Swift concert. She even managed in include a new fan tradition of exchanging friendship bracelets into the film, this tradition which originated from her song You´re on your own kid, and the lyrics ¨So make the friendship bracelets, Take the moment and taste it, You´ve got no reason to be afraid¨ has brought her fans even closer together and she included it in her end credits with a short message for her fans spelled out on a friendship bracelet. The concert film overall is an equally as amazing experience for fans to come together to enjoy Taylor Swift and her music.
In fact Swift even encouraged fans to treat the movie as a concert and sing and dance and have fun. When you go see the film you get the Taylor Swift concert experience from your hometown, with opportunities to sing, dance, exchange friendship bracelets, and lose your voice screaming the lyrics to her songs.
Even if you aren’t a “Swiftie” the concert film is still a great experience if you have time to see it.
