The book First to a Million, by Dan Sheeks, is a book mainly for teenagers to read and learn about the finance world and how it works. This book is great for people around the age of 16-21 years old who want to learn the first hand basics of finance with tips and tricks on how to get financially independent at an early age and also how to retire around your 30’s.
This book was a huge eye opener for me and really showed me the way of the finance world and almost everything you need to know when you turn 18, and when you turn 16 as well. I started reading the book as a class assignment for my money & finance class with Sean Haardt.
One of the key things that I learned from this book was how to really save your money and how to keep yourself from spending too much money at a time, as well as ways to own a credit card. Before I read this book, I knew little to almost nothing about banks and how they work most of the time. Thanks to this book, I learned things like how to set up a ROTH account, SMP500, and ways to get up automatic payment, an easier way to help you pay your bills/rent on time without having to even think about it.
I would recommend this book to literally anyone I come across, it is so insanely helpful especially for teenagers, or even just people that want to learn how to handle their money easier. It is also very easy to understand and easy to gather the information. 10/10 book!!
