Bell’s Creative Writing Club also known as the Knight Writers is a group full of cheerful and enthusiastic writers. Today we hear what Katherine Bell, an English teacher as well as club leader at MHS as well as Harper Nitz, the Managing Editor for the Knight Writers have to say.
If you are curious about joining in on this weekly writing group, Katherine Bell encourages you to come speak to herself, Harper Nitz, or Bowie Wieczorek. You can also submit your work through the QR code provided in the video.
The Creative Writing Club’s goal is to collect a variety of writing submissions through a spreadsheet, which the editors go through. These submissions are later published to Knight Writers, a section of the MHS Roundtable website.
“It’s a great place to learn, it’s a great place to express yourself. We believe in subjectivity, so everyone here is a great writer,” said Harper Nitz.
Katherine Bell encourages the flow of creative writing by searching for writing contests as well as creating prompts. New activities are always emerging in the Knight Writers.
“I am here to facilitate what students want. Students have done a great job of telling me what they want, and we’re getting it done,” said Katherine Bell.
All club members alike can enjoy the fun that comes with writing with friends. Harper Nitz as well as many other club members can hold a sentiment of friendship when coming up with ideas.
“Last year there were a lot of times where we could write something and we could all laugh about it, we still reference some of the stuff we’ve written about today,” said Harper Nitz on her experience with Knight Writers.
“I’ve been really lucky to have a great group of students take over leadership roles,” says Katherine Bell.
All in all, the Knight Writers are a great club to join if you love writing and you have some friends who love writing as well.
