The Middletown High School softball squad is full of young potential and is poised to improve on a lackluster season from last year.
Last years record was disappointing for a hardworking group of girls but with a new coach and almost entirely new roster, everyone is expecting big changes in success. Senior Jordyn Russo is the only returning varsity player from last season and will help lead along with seniors Lauren Anderson, Courtney Heck, and Meaghan Gallagher.
The new coach this season is Hood College graduate Sarah Wastler.
“I like the new coach,” said Russo.
Other major contributors this season are Sarah Barnhard and Olivia Lagos. The team has put in a lot more preparation to be successful this season.
“Were doing a lot more drills with fielding and sprint drills,” said Russo.
