Last Thursday, November 17, the halls of Middletown High School were filled with more high heels and ties than usual. There was much chatter among friends about how much they screwed up or about what a good impression they made.
The senior interviews that took place in the media center and cafeteria Thursday, apparently, was the subject of much excitement amongst the seniors.
Many interviewers were at MHS the morning of November 17 meeting with seniors in order to prepare them for a real job interview.
The interviewers were given a set of sample questions, but most chose to ask students more personal questions.
“We ask them questions that make them think about their successes they’ve had to date and also about where they want to be in the future. What their strengths or weaknesses are so that they can do some self-reflection,” said Don Schilling, one of the interviewers.
Schilling added that it was an important experience for students to talk to someone that they don’t know before they have a real job interview.
