With a new head coach from Hood College, Charlie Toms, the Middletown High School varsity girls softball team is prepared as ever for a successful season.
Toms has been holding workouts for MHS softball pitchers and catchers before school twice a week to help prepare them for the seasons tough schedule.
Pre-season dedication is not the only thing the team is known for, however. The MHS softball team can also be noted for its togetherness as players act as one; not one player is distinguished over another.
Samantha Carter, a junior on the MHS varsity softball team has high hopes for this coming season, which starts on March 1st.
“I really hope we play up to our potential this year,” said Carter.
Carter also went on to say that the Urbana game will be a challenge this year as they are defending state champions. The team also hopes to make it farther in playoffs this year than previous years.
“We all lead eachother,” said Carter, “when someone else is down we pick her up.”
Come out and support the MHS girls varsity softball team this spring season! The team’s first game is at home on March 21st against Boonsboro.
