The average Middletown High School student arrives at school between 7 and 7:25 a.m. Many of those students can be found buying breakfast, chatting with friends, or rushing through homework. But Feb. 6 brought more excitement than usual as bystanders witnessed the introduction of new technology to the cafeteria.
Earlier in the winter, administrators became concerned that lengthy announcements were eating up class time. To help shorten the broadcasts and incorporate advertisements, MHS installed a flat-screen TV in the cafeteria where the SGA bulletin board previously hung.
Assistant Principal Daniel Mullins stated, “I want to help the Broadcast Journalism class, so videos don’t take away from class time.”
Mullins mentioned seeing a TV at Linganore High School and he thought the purchase would be a nice addition to our school, as well.
After seeing the installment of the new flat-screen, students await its use during their lunch shifts.
