While a few key players haven’t been able to practice yet due to the advance to states in football, theMiddletown High School boys basketball team is not letting the few gaps stop them. They’ve been working hard; they’re preparing for a winning season.
Since Nov. 15 the Knights have been in the gymnasium for two to three hours after school working together to form plays, and maintain endurance as the first game quickly approaches.
With nine returning seniors, the MHS boys basketball team is guaranteed to have great team chemistry, and a lot of experience.
“We’re really trying to get to the Comcast center,” said Ethan Winn, a senior on the MHS basketball team.
The Comcast center is where the state semi-finals and theMaryland high school basketball state championships are played.
Ken Bartlett, also a senior on the team, said defense is currently a main concentration at practice.
“We’re doing a lot of defensive drills,” said Bartlett. “Our defense will hopefully bring us far in playoffs.”
Jacob Bolton, a junior on the team has never played varsity basketball.
“Varsity is definitely more competitive, and there’s a higher intensity on the court,” said Bolton, “so therefore you need to play with a higher intensity and more communication”
Come support the Knights this basketball season!
