The Middletown High School girls varsity lacrosse team is pumped and ready to begin an unforgettable season.
45 girls turned out ready for an intense and aggressive tryout, after they spent the off -season stressing the importance of conditioning and improving their stick work skills.
“I was really nervous at tryouts because we did a lot of running and not as much stick work,” said MHS freshman Sarah Mueller.
Last year the girls varsity lacrosse team finished their regular season with a record of 13-2 and is hoping to go even further in the playoffs this year.
MHS senior goalie Emily Boyce reflects on their past experiences and what the team needs to improve upon.
“I think we are going to do great this season, Last year was a building year for us as a team and now we have a lot of great players with a ton of team chemistry,” said Boyce.
The team is in the process of becoming better athletes, perfecting their stick work, and working together as a team. The girls are laying out a strong foundation to the start of a great season.
Only time will tell how the far the team will go this year.
