About 100 people showed up at Jaley’s Ice Cream Parlor March 12 for ice cream shakes, cones, and cakes, as Jaley’s reopened its doors to its customers.
“I went to Jaley’s afterschool because I was so excited about the opening,” said Middletown High School freshmen Kendle Meese.
The shop started its new season with new flavors and featured a balloon artist who made hats, swords, and animals for kids.
“At first the parlor’s business was slow because the kids weren’t out of school yet; but as soon as 2:30 rolled around, they poured right in,” said Wendy Darr, an employee of Jaley’s.
The parlor had been closed during the winter and was welcomed back with enthusiasm.
“I’m so glad that Jaley’s is open again. I can’t wait to go for the first time of the season,” said MHS senior Amanda Woozley.
