The crowded green turf becomes an empty field as the team focuses on one thing; pushing the battered ball into the goal.
They succeeded; the Middletown girls soccer team finished out the 2010 regular season with an undefeated record of 15 – 0.
Their team, like any other, constructs goal’s in which they hope to achieve every game. The main goal this year was, “to make it to states,” according to MHS student sophomore Brittney George.
One step away from reaching their objective, the team is staying focused in preparation for Saturday’s game against Bel Air.
This game, the state-semi finals will determine if MHS girls soccer will be making an appearance at states this year.
“We’re confident as a whole, but we can’t be overly confident or else we will end up second guessing ourselves,” says Brittney about the game verses Century Tuesday night.
Although the girls may have advantages over the opponents such as their offensive and defensive speed, they work hard for all of those accomplishments.
Teamwork is one of the main reasons MHS girls soccer has succeeded so far. The girls agree that they have a terrific connection on and off the field, allowing them to remain unbeatable.
“We give 110% effort towards every second of the game,” added senior Brittain Altomare.
