Myersville occupants have been eminently recommending a library for decades, and it’s said to be executed by 2019.
Mayor Wayne Creadick has been pushing for the library ever since he was elected in 2001 but there were insufficient funds at the time. After 16 years the Capital Improvements Program has come up with $3,778,800 to put toward the library.
Christine McCauslin, Myersville citizen, exclaims that she is extremely eager to “…run over to the best new thing…” in town. Another citizen tells us that, they think it be be a beautiful addition to the community.
Library officials and Town Council members have been promoting for it to be designed in the fiscal 2018 year and construction to undergo in 2019. Victoria Hofflinger, of Middletown High School, says that she is very excited for the new library and will definitely commute from Braddock when it is opened.
The planned size has decreased from more than 15,000 square feet to 6,000 square feet, which is “something smaller, but appropriate for a community this size”, says Mayor Wayne Creadick.
Town Manager Kristin Aleshire, who is overseeing the project, feels that this library will be a great new addition to Myersville. Officials of the project are interested in a trolley heritage theme for the library. They hope this will appropriately integrate historical aspects of the town.
“I think it would be really great to have another library in the area so that I won’t have to go all the way out to the Middletown Library”, says an anonymous source. Overall, the people of and around the Myersville area seem very enthusiastic about this new part of the town.
