National FFA Week is fast approaching and the Middletown FFA Chapter has planned several different spirit days and events in order to celebrate. To start the week on Feb. 22, there will be a “Maryland Monday” spirit day when students can dress in their favorite Maryland gear. That evening, there will be a fundraiser event at the Main Cup, a portion of the sales from that night will go towards the Middletown FFA Chapter.
On Tuesday Feb. 23, the spirit day will be “USA Day” day. Students will have the opportunity to create care packages for soldiers after school in the ag shop. There will be donation boxes placed around the school during FFA week to collect donations of different items that our service members are in need of.
Wednesday Feb. 24 is FFA spirit day where students could wear national FFA blue, corn gold or any type of agricultural attire. The Chapter will hold an icecream social/party after school for certain members.
Thursday Feb. 25 is “twinsie” day meaning students can dress in the same clothes as their friend/friends. Members of The Chapter will be selling FFA emblems at the Tractor Supply Company in the evening.
There will be a “Flannel Friday” on Feb. 26. Students can wear their favorite flannels to school. There will be a movie night with pizza in the ag shop featuring the movie “Inside Out.”
Jared Wojton, MHS senior and Vice President of the Middletown FFA Chapter said, “My favorite part of FFA week is to see the whole school involved and for them to learn that FFA is not just about farming.”
All students are able to participate in FFA week and are encouraged to, it is a great way to support the agriculture program in Middletown.
