The recent opening of Plato’s Closet, a clothing store in Frederick that specializes in donated apparel, has become a popular shopping destination for many Middletown High School students because of its style, and efficiently priced attire.
Plato’s closet typically buys, and sells clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry that have been in the retail stores within the past “12 to 18 months” and keeps up to date with the latest fashion trends still seen in the mall.
Some of the top name brands can be purchased from Plato’s closet, including brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Billabong, Levi’s, and many more.
The store only accepts “brand name, gently used clothing” and generally ranges in sizes 0-16 for girls and 28-40 waist for guys.
“Plato’s Closet changes out their clothes like every week. Every time I’ve been in there I always have something new to choose from,” said MHS junior Audrey Tolland.
Located near the Regal Westview Movie Theater, people from all over Frederick, including many from the Middletown community, bring their clothes they wish to sell to Plato’s Closet, in which return they get money for.
Instead of letting those clothes sit in a drawer to never be worn again, this is an easy way for teens and young adults to make some easy money.
MHS students are beginning to take advantage of the rapidly growing clothing inventory that Plato’s Closet is providing to the public.
“I love shopping at Plato’s Closet, it’s such a unique store with affordable prices,” says junior Samantha Barbeito.
Not only has the trendy store been getting positive feedback from the community, many MHS students are snapping up the opportunity to purchase the latest clothing and fashion trends for affordable prices.
