The Middletown High School Knights Girls Cross Country team will look to get back on track at the Don Stoner Invitational.
The Knights are coming off a rough patch in their season, not placing in the Richard Barnhart Memorial Invitational on September 28th and coming in 45th out of 58 teams at the Oatlands Invitational in Leesburg, Virginia.
One of the reasons for the Knights struggles was the Knights lack of runners in events.
Prior commitments affected the Barnhart Memorial Invitational as Middletown seniors Natalie Smith and Annie Noffsinger and Middletown sophomore Kristyn Staley were not able to run in the meet.
Smith, Noffsinger, and Staley are the top three runners for the Knights based on times and because the Knights only placed three runners (with a maximum of 5) they ended outside the scoring table.
The Knights will look to rebound on a course that plays into their strengths, on an up and down windy course. The Knights opponents will also play into their strengths as they have faced most of the other teams in the meet at least once this year.
