Last night Middletown High School baseball was taken down by Brunswick, by a score of 6-4. The Knights are now 12-3 and half a game back of first place in the MVAL Piedmont division.
They picked up the game in the bottom of the third after a rain delay with Brunswick leading 1-0; Sophomore Danny Finn came in for the Knights, after the delay. Finn pitched two and one thirds innings and gave up four earned runs.
Senior Billy Griffin started and pitched a strong three and two thirds, he finished with four strikeouts and gave up one earned run.
Doug Pearl gave up one earned run and three strikeouts in six innings of work for the Railroaders.
Senior Sean Wenner led the way at the plate for the Knights, driving in two of the Knights four runs
Brunswick had a field day at the plate, Gary Barrett had three RBI and Zach Hossler added three hits.
The Knights will take on Thomas Johnson tonight at home at 4:30. The Knights will be celebrating senior night, seniors this year are: Howie Kalamets, Matt Machack, Matt Lloyd, Sean Wenner, Billy Griffin and Ian Peters.
