The Middletown High School Knights took down Liberty last night, in a matchup between two top teams. MHS advanced to 8-1 on the season.
MHS sophomore Colson Kirchner pitched seven innings and gave up one run in the first and one in the fifth. He also finished the game with three strikeouts.
The Knights tied the game up in the fifth, but Liberty came back and scored the go ahead run off of Kirchner in the fifth. Sean Wenner came up big in the bottom of the sixth with hit that drove in two runs, and gave the Knights the lead.
The Knights escaped with the victory, and will take on Brunswick tonight on the road.
