The Middletown Knights Girls basketball team continued their streak of success by beating the Urbana Hawks in an up-and-down affair by a score of 62-55. The Knights got off to a good start, not allowing the Hawks to make a field goal until the second quarter. The Hawks hung in the game though by making eight foul shots in the first quarter and then made their run in the second quarter, making it a one point game at the half. The Knights though would get their own momentum swing as they opened up the third quarter on a 17-0 run with senior Caitlin McLister and senior Tisa Mullins contributing 12 of the 17. The Hawks would come storming back going on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit down to 44-38. In the end, the Knights were too much for the Hawks even with Urbana getting within 3 points of Middletown on multiple occasions in the fourth. A late 5-0 run and free throws from McLister, junior Jess Racz, and senior Brittney George closed out the game for the Knights. The leading scorer for Middletown was McLister who had 15 while George had 12 and Racz had 11. Urbana had 2 scorers in double digits but both were aided heavily by foul shots. Lohr had 14 points with 10 coming from the charity stripe while Bailey Breese had 10 and scored five on the line. The Knights will host Oakdale Friday.
