The Middletown Knights Varsity Girls Basketball team lost to the Tuscarora Titans on the road in a hard fought battle by a score of 47-56. The Knights started out well leading 15-11 after the first quarter, but struggled to create much offense further into the game. The Knights didn’t score until 3:05 in the second quarter in a quarter which only saw them score eight points and had even more struggles in the fourth quarter being outscored 22-5. Shania Johnson came up big for Tuscarora scoring 29 points and making the Knights defense look silly in the process. Tuscarora’s Lyric Forney also had 10 points and with Johnson and Forney combined the Knights seemed to be uneasy on defense unlike their past two games against TJ and Frederick. The Knights’ leading scorers were junior Jess Racz and senior Caitlin McLister both scoring 15 points for an offense that seemed to be streaky at best. This was the Knights’ third game in a week and signs of fatigue seemed to be showing as the as the Titans flew right past them. In the JV Girls Basketball game the Knights won 37-29 in a game that went down to the wire. Freshman Rilee Bradshaw led the Knights with 12 points.
