The boys outdoor track team will be coming off an undefeated regular season last year. The team looks strong, and looks as if it can repeat its success. Coach Don Boyer doesn’t have too many years left, but has high hopes for this team.
The sprints are led by seniors Jaraad Yates and Rob Michels. Both are coming back after a very good outdoor season. Michels and Yates have help from Lance Lagos, Tyler Kelley, and Rakim Hamilton. All of the sprinters on the team look ready to score points.
The distance is led by seniors Hank Binzer, Garrett Foland, Sam Bello, Shane Summers and Tom Brinton. Many others will help out in scoring points.
Field lost a lot of talent, but many members of the team look to reclaim dominance. Senior Zack Haines is the team’s top triple jumper and looks to improve off a good season last year. Junior Austin Strine and senior Corey Blain do a little bit of everything. Both can be seen doing the long jump, triple jump, and high jump. Blain placed third in indoor for the high jump.
The shot put and discuss is led by junior Tyler Johnson, who is improving every day. In the pole vault, the Knights dominate with senior duo Alex Edelman and Will Bell. Both have a chance at winning states this year.
Coach Boyer also loves the strength of the J.V team. Everyone on the team is capable of accomplishing a lot this year.
