On Jan. 7, Frederick County Public Schools were delayed two hours due to ice on the roads, providing dangerous conditions for student drivers. Awake and excited, students filled the school at 9 am.
Many students were overjoyed about the two hour delay when they heard of it, though many thought that school should have been cancelled. Students’ opinions on the delay varied.
Sarah Falcon, a ninth-grader at Middletown High School, said she didn’t really care about it. Scott Bradley, a tenth grader, was disappointed about having school.
The majority of the student population was excited.
Eleventh grader Jessica Schroyer expressed her joy, saying, “I was like, yay, sleep.”
Students at MHS hope that in the future there will be snow, blizzards and ice storms, as the two hour delay provided sleep, excitement, and joy to all.
