Breast Cancer Fact of the day…Breastfeeding may actually decrease the risk of premenopausal breast cancer.
All young men interested in trying out for the varsity, JV, and freshman basketball teams this season are encouraged to attend an organizational meeting right after school on Friday, October 22, in Room 422. The meeting will be brief and should be over by 3 p.m.
The Boys Cross Country team placed 11th out of forty schools at the Georgetown Prep Invitational on Saturday. In the JV Race, Middletown placed 10th out of 31 teams.

The JV Girls Volleyball team had an outstanding showing at the Oakdale volleyball tournament this past Saturday. The girls finished 7 and 1 in pool play before advancing to the finals, where the eventually lost to Hedgesville. Come watch the girls battle against South Carroll on Tuesday night here at MHS at 6 o’clock where they look to keep their undefeated season alive. Go Knights!
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet Tuesday morning at 6:45 a.m. in the chorus room. ALL teachers and students are invited for a time of food, fellowship, and prayer. And a quick reminder that you DO NOT have to be athletic or a member to attend. Everyone is welcome! That’s tomorrow morning at 6:45.
Pre-season workouts for boys basketball players will be held today and Wednesday right after school this week. All players in grades 9 – 12 who are interested in trying out for basketball this season and who are not participating in a fall sport are encouraged to attend these workouts.
Are you interested in hiking to a waterfall? Racing the white water rapids? How about exploring a coffee plantation or observing exotic animals in the rain forest? Be sure to attend an informational meeting on Thursday for this year’s non-school sponsored trip to Costa Rica. The meeting begins at 6:00 in the Media Center. The Jewelry and Sculpture class would like to thank everyone who helped support their first ever fundraiser- Beading for Breast Cancer. This semester all money will go to Team Hope for Breast Cancer research and equipment. The students raised over $200 during the lunch shifts and the Jewelry sales were more than $800, Total the students raised more than $1000. Also thank you to all administrators and guidance for their amazing support while collecting money during the lunch shifts we could not have done this without you!
Girls Cross Country Team Results from 10/16/2010 – The girls cross country team finished in 8th place out of a 23 team field in the elite division of the prestigious Georgetown Prep Invitation.
