The NASA space shuttle Discovery departed from Cape Canaveral, Fl., on March 15. Its mission is to provide more electricity to the orbiting International Space Station. The shuttle, which was a month behind schedule on launching, is the first orbiter flight of 2009. The Discovery was supposed to depart on March 11, but was delayed due to a hydrogen leak.
