As the leaves begin to change and the temperature slowly creeps its way down the thermometer, Disney Channel’s annual “Hauntober Fest” begins.
The Disney Channel marathon named “Hauntober Fest” is a marathon of Disney Channel Original Halloween movies. Among the favorites are “Halloween Town”, “Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire”, and “Hocus Pocus”.
The movies are all played only during Halloween, which builds up the excitement of the showings.
“They give me a good feeling because I watched them when I was younger when they first came out on Disney, and it just reminds me of good times,” said Middletown High School freshman Cecilia Bettendorf.
Something about the movies gives kids and even adults, a certain joy that only Halloween can provide. The feeling may not always be easy to explain, but when people feel it, it’s not simply forgotten.
“Halloween Town” is just one of the movies people look forward to seeing. A young girl named Marni discovers that she is a young witch, and throughout the movie series Marni has to constantly work to protect her secret and her family.
Being able to imagine, the childhood feeling, the comedy and bright colors are just a few things that contribute to the love of Disney Channels “Hauntober Fest.”
Though ABC family has they’re annual “13 Nights of Halloween” kids and teens prefer to watch Disney Channel. ABC family’s movies are not all about Halloween, movies like “The Goonies” and “Beetle Juice” have nothing to do with the beloved Holiday.
“Today’s Disney movies aren’t as creative and they only use the bigger name celebrities. They have all gone downhill since “High School Musical” because they are trying to be successful, “said MHS junior Brandon Stonestreet.
As Halloween wraps up, students are already excited for the next year.
