Michael Vick will get out of prison on May 20; he will then move into home confinement. Vick has been in jail for dog fighting since 2007. In jail, Vick told many that he finally realized how wrong dog fighting was (better late then never.)
I have to ask Vick how it took prison time to realized killing dogs was wrong. Vick ruined something he’ll never have again, being the most recognized name in the NFL and arguable in sports.
When Vick is released, the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will have a tough job in front of him.
Goodell will have to make the decision to suspend Vick for the upcoming NFL season, or let him play.
If Goodell was smart, he would suspend him without question. The reason isn’t because I wouldn’t want to see him in the league again, I would love that.
The reason is the NFL will never hear the end of it from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
If Goodell lets Vick join a team, picture the training camp he goes to. There will be hundreds of fans with signs regarding Vick.
It would be a terrible move by the NFL and the team that signs him. If Goodell lets him play, I wouldn’t be surprised if no team wanted to sign him.
Vick has a long way to go before he earns respect from any one. It doesn’t get easy though for Vick out of jail.
He has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is on supervised probation for the next three years.
