The Washington Wizards have a dismal 16-56 score and only ten games remaining. So why would their star point guard, who has sat out the last two years, decide to come back?
Gilbert Arenas is looking to return to the Wizards this Saturday against the Detroit Pistons. He has sat out the entire year with a knee injury.
Arenas told many that he wouldn’t return to the team because it wasn’t worth it. Known best for blogging on the internet and his sometimes selfish attitude, Arenas may be looking for a new life as a player.
He has started to change; he decided to stop blogging because he thought it was hurting him as a player. It took him this long to figure out that he is the best player in the league and not playing was hurting him.
I only wonder what he is thinking; he isn’t going to be at full-speed and he will only play a few minutes. The team wants him to play this year, but they need him more next year.
The smart thing to do would be to continue to rehab the injured knee and wait till next year to jump into the lineup. That’s not like Arenas; he would rather comeback this year and hit a big shot, and tell the media he is back.
This time, though, no one will care. He was the Lebron James of the league two years ago; everybody watched him. He lost a lot of respect from the media and his fans by sitting out so long and hurting the team.
It’s been two years that he has had this injury; now he wants to risk injuring it now with a bottom of the cellar team? He should wait it out until next year and see if he can earn his respect back. Washington needs the old Arenas back: not the blogger but the player.
